Broadband Self-Installation

Friendly offers a full solution for home networking, including an answer to self-installation, service provisioning, and remote management - via both TR-069 and non-TR-069 devices. For Carriers and xSPs, the process of activating a new broadband user is the single largest source of support calls - a cost that can be a major barrier to the achievement of broadband growth objectives. For this reason, supporting the acquisition of new users is a key focus of Friendly’s GoBroadband, FriendlyHomeLAN, and server-based CPE provisioning products (e.g., TR-69).

The Self-Installation Process (User’s Side) includes:
  • Device installation instructions
  • Device detection
  • Device configuration
  • Automatic problem resolution during installation process
  • PC diagnostics and configuration for broadband (e.g., NIC detection and configuration)
  • Internet account set-up (e.g., email, browser set-up)
  • Advanced features: Home networking set-up including wireless security, device sharing, configuration of VoIP settings in devices, installation on PCs of missing components for voice or video services

Supported Devices
  • Bridge modems
  • Modems/routers/STBs provided by the xSP, new Triple-Play devices with TR-69 support
  • Modems/routers provided by the xSP, older models with no TR-69 support
  • Routers purchased by users ("unknown devices")

Supported Services
  • Internet connectivity
  • VoIP
  • Security
  • IPTV (for relevant STBs)

Full solution from a single PC to a complete Home Network

Friendly can automate the entire process of subscriber installation and provisioning (user’s side), from a single PC with a bridge modem to a complete wireless home network.
